Saranya Narayana, Ph.D

Saranya Narayana’s passion for agriculture was ignited during her undergraduate studies, where she earned a BSc in Animal Science and Fisheries from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. Her journey in animal genetics led her to Canada, where she refined her expertise by completing an MSc in Animal Breeding and Genetics at the University of Guelph in 2016 and a PhD in Veterinary Medical Sciences, specializing in Animal Breeding and Genetics, from the University of Calgary in 2023. Dr. Narayana joined Lactanet in 2022 as a geneticist, bringing over a decade of experience in animal breeding and genetics. Her expertise spans quantitative genetics, genomics, and epidemiology with work focusing on leveraging genetics to enhance cattle breeding.
