2021/07/05 – Lactanet Acquires Lac-T Dairy Software

Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue (QC), July 5, 2021

Lactanet Canada is pleased to announce the acquisition of Lac-T dairy herd management software. Lac-T will join Lactanet’s line-up of software and applications effective July 1st, 2021 and is an economical option for smaller dairy herds.

Lac-T was introduced to the Quebec dairy industry under the Lactologic partnership in 2011 by three industry players: Valacta, SIGA and DSAHR. The Lactologic partners have since reached an agreement by which Lactanet Canada would now assume all aspects and rights associated with Lac-T. This includes future developments, sales and support to 1200+ dairy farms and industry users of the software.

“After a decade of market presence, we are excited to add Lac-T directly into our product offering,” states Daniel Lefebvre, Chief Operations Officer, Lactanet Canada. “Herd management software is an increasingly important tool for dairy producers and their advisor team and we will continue to play a key role to fully service dairy producers with the right solution for their specific farm operation.” Lac-T will join Lactanet’s DairyComp, the market leader for larger and automated herds. In fact, 50% of dairy cattle located in Ontario and Western Canada are managed with DairyComp and receive full service and support through Lactanet.

In the months ahead, Lactanet plans to transition all activities for Lac-T directly to its operations to ensure customers are supported. In the short-term, Lac-T users can continue to contact their existing support for any inquiries at www.lac-t.com or 1-877-850-1714. “Lactanet and Lac-T support staff are committed to providing a smooth transition for Lac-T customers,” says Lefebvre. “We will send further communications about the changes and the transition to Lact-T users as it unfolds.” Information on all of Lactanet’s application and software products can be seen on their new website: https://lactanet.ca/en/apps-software/.
