Cindy Jaton, agr., MBA, Ph.D
Genetics Industry Ambassador
Having grown up on her family’s dairy farm and living with her husband on his dairy farm, Cindy has always had a keen interest in dairy cattle and genetics. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science and a MBA in business management from Laval University, and a PhD in Animal Breeding & Genetics from the University of Guelph, Cindy joined Lactanet in 2024 as the Genetics Industry Ambassador. She brings 10 years of experience from the artificial insemination (AI) industry, where she developed expertise in the analysis of genetic and genomic data, in genetic selection of dairy cattle and in the development of genetic strategy tools for dairy herds.
Cindy enjoys sharing her knowledge of dairy cattle genetics with producers and industry organizations to help translate the science of genetics to farm application. She values feedback from the industry to help them achieve their goals and keep Lactanet as a global leader in dairy genetics. Cindy is also a member of the CRAAQ Dairy Cattle Committee since 2022 and is involved in the organization of the Dairy Cattle Symposium in Quebec.
