Liuhong Chen, Ph.D
Research Geneticist
Liuhong first came to Canada in 2006 after completing his M.Sc. in Animal Breeding and Genetics from the China Agricultural University. He received his Ph.D. in Animal Breeding and Quantitative Genetics from the University of Guelph in 2013. Before joining Lactanet, he gained extensive experience working in both academia and industry, including positions at the University of Alberta, Zoetis Inc., and Prairie View A&M University. His expertise spans dairy and beef cattle, Bayesian methods, statistical modeling, computer programming, and large-scale genomic evaluation using single-step methodologies.
At Lactanet, Liuhong will be working with the Genetics team to develop new and improve current genomic evaluation systems for the benefit of Canadian dairy producers and industry partners.
