Dr. Cindy Jaton, Lactanet’s Director, Genetics & Traceability

Lactanet Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Cindy Jaton to the position of Director, Genetics & Traceability, effective December 22, 2025.
Since joining Lactanet in 2024, Cindy Jaton held the position of Genetics Industry Ambassador where she was responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with industry organizations offering services related to genetics. Having grown up in the dairy industry, she remains closely connected to it, raising her three daughters on her husband’s family dairy farm. Cindy holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Université Laval as well as a PhD in Animal Breeding and Genetics from the University of Guelph. Prior to joining Lactanet, she spent 8 years on the research and solutions teams at Semex.
In this new position, Cindy will be overseeing Lactanet’s genetic and traceability services including the associated industry committees. She will lead the team responsible for the delivery of Canada’s genetic evaluation services and for genetics research and innovation program, and she will manage the team responsible for DairyTrace as Canada’s national dairy cattle traceability program.
Cindy will continue to be a strong ambassador of genetic evaluation services by maintaining positive business relationships with national breed associations, artificial insemination companies, and other national genetic evaluation centres globally.
