Lactanet is proud to announce Canada’s Best Managed Dairy Herds for 2025, recognizing 50 top-performing farms based on their Herd Performance Index (HPI). These outstanding herds exemplify excellence in herd management across the Canadian dairy industry and were celebrated during Lactanet’s national online event on February 24, 2026. 

The 2025 Best Managed Dairy Herds include: 

• The top 25 herds in Canada 

• The top three herds in each province 

• The top herds by milking system, nationally and by region 

• The top organic dairy herds, nationally and by region 
  
  

“Each year we bring the dairy community together to celebrate producer achievements and the impact of the Herd Performance Index,” said Barbara Paquet, Chair of the Lactanet Board of Directors. “The HPI supports producers by measuring six key indicators of a thriving and profitable herd: milk value, udder health, age at first calving, herd efficiency, longevity, and calving interval.”
