Allison Fleming, Ph. D.
Geneticist
With a keen interest in agriculture, Allison attended the University of Guelph earning a BSc (Agr) and MSc before completing her PhD in Animal Breeding and Genetics in 2016 with a focus on genetic selection in dairy cattle. She continued to work on various research projects at the University before joining the Canadian Dairy Network (now Lactanet) as a geneticist in 2018. As a member of the genetics group she contributes to the delivery and development of Lactanet’s genetic-related services, including the Compass software tool. Allison further brings excellent communication skills to the role and enjoys sharing her knowledge of the dairy cattle genetic improvement landscape with all audiences from the technical to the end-user for the successful understanding and application of genetic selection tools.
