Daniel Lefebvre, agr., Ph. D., PAS, Dipl. ACAN
Chief Operations Officer - Director, Centre of Expertise
Having grown up on a dairy farm in Montérégie, Daniel takes great pride in the family heritage that has sparked both his passion for dairy production and his immense respect for milk producers. He studied animal science at McGill University where he graduated in 1989. Member of L’Ordre des agronomes du Québec, Daniel obtained a PhD in 1998 in nutrition and dairy cow physiology, also from McGill.
He has been with Valacta (now Lactanet) since 1993, is certified by the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists and the American College of Animal Nutrition and is also a member of the CRAAQ Dairy Cattle Committee. In 2009, he received the Animal Industries Award for Science Extension and Service to the Public, sponsored by the Dairy Farmers of Canada, the Canadian Pork Council and the Chicken Farmers of Canada. In addition to his duties both as Chief Operations Officer and Director, Centre of Expertise at Lactanet, he is also Chairman of ICAR (International Committee for Animal Recording).
